365 Days Movie is a 2020 Polish erotic thriller film directed by Barbara Białowąs and Tomasz Mandes. The story is based on the first novel of a trilogy by Blanka Lipińska.
365 Days Movie follows a young Warsaw woman, Laura (Anna-Maria Sieklucka), who is in a stale relationship. In an effort to rekindle the spark, she travels to Sicily with her friends. There, she is kidnapped by Massimo Torricelli (Michele Morrone), a dangerous member of the Sicilian Mafia family. Massimo holds Laura captive in his luxurious estate for a year, giving her 365 days to fall in love with him.
The film was a controversial hit, particularly on Netflix where it gained a large audience. It was criticized for its unrealistic portrayal of Stockholm syndrome and its glamorization of a violent, abusive relationship. However, it also garnered praise for its steamy scenes and its dark and suspenseful story.
